In the first step, you need to visit your Blogger Dashboard. Now, visit the following settings: Blogger Dashboard >> Settings >> Basic. In Basic, just below Publishing section, you can see an HTTPS section. Follow the below screenshot:
Here we need to make some changes in the HTTPS section in order to enable HTTPS on Blogger blog with custom domain. Follow Step 2 to turn ON the HTTPS availability.
Step 2: Turn HTTPS Availability ON
In the second step, you have to turn ON the HTTPS availability for your Blog. Under the Basic section turn ON HTTPS by selecting HTTPS availability as Yes. Follow the below screenshot for the detailed guide:

Step 3: Turn HTTPS Redirect ON
After waiting for 5 to 10 minutes HTTPS availability will be turned ON as shown in below screenshot. Similar to Step 2, turn HTTPS redirect ON by selecting Yes just after HTTPS redirect. Follow the below screenshot:
After the HTTPS redirect is turned ON, you can visit your blog and experience HTTPS on your blog. Since we have completed the setup of HTTPS on our Blogger blog. Now its time to fix some errors caused due to HTTPS.
How to Fix Mixed Content Error?
Since you have enabled HTTPS on Blogger blog. Now if someone visits your blog/website, then the browser may show your initial HTML content. This type of error is called mixed content error.
The mixed content error can be caused by HTML stylesheets or javascript content in your Blogspot theme & third-party widgets. Follow the below steps to fix mixed content errors.
Step 1: Visit your Theme’s HTML
In order to fix mixed content error into your blog, you have to make some changes to your theme HTML. First, visit your theme HTML via the following settings: Blogger Dashboard >> Themes >> Edit HTML. Follow the below screenshot:
Now, you need to simply click on Edit HTML. (Be sure to back up your Blogspot theme before making any change in it)
Step 2: Search for http://
Once you visit your theme HTML, you will see a long piece of HTML code. You have to search for Http:// into your Blogspot theme just by pressing Ctrl + F. Follow the below screenshot for better results.
Step 3: Replace all http:// with https://
Since you have found all the non-https links into your theme HTML. Now you have to change all http:// links to https:// link. After doing this the mixed content error will be resolved.
Since you have successfully fixed all the mixed content errors. Now you have to add your new https:// site into Google Search Console. Also, you have to submit the sitemap for your site again. Follow the below steps:
Add your HTTPS site to Google Search Console:
If you have previously added your site to the Google Search Console, then it’s time to resubmit your site. It is so because you have previously added your non-https site in Search Console. If you don’t add your new site into Google Search Console, then Google shows your site without https in search results which may impact your site SEO score.
Follow the below steps to add your new site into Google Search Console:
Step 1: Visit Google Search Console
In the first step, you have to login into your Google Search Console account. Use your google account to login. After successful login, you have to click on ADD A PROPERTY. Follow the below snapshot:
Step 2: Add your site with HTTPS
After you click on ADD A PROPERTY, a new popup window will open up. Here you need to enter your site with https (e.g. https://harishjoshi.com). Follow the below screenshot for more details.
After entering your property (sites URL), you have to click on Add. That’s it, now your new URL is successfully added to Google Search Console. Adding your website into search console isn’t enough. You have to submit the sitemap for this new URL.
Follow the below guide to submit the sitemap for your new site into Google Search Console.
Submit sitemap for your New Site into Google Search Console:
