In this short tutorial, we will understand what Meta Ads is & the benefits of advertising on Facebook.

This is the first tutorial in this series, i.e. Meta Ads 101. In upcoming tutorials, we will discuss more topics including types of Facebook ads, ad formats & how to run Meta ads for your business.

Alright, let’s start by knowing what exactly is Meta advertising or Facebook ads.

Please note that, a lot of times I might use the word Meta Ads & Facebook  Ads interchangeably as Meta Ads is earlier known as Facebook Ads.

What is Meta Ads?

Meta advertising (earlier Facebook advertising) refers to promoting your brand, product or services on all the platforms owned by Meta & other partner platforms.

The major platforms that Meta owns are: Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp & Threads.

As of now, Meta uses Facebook, Instagram & other partnered platforms for advertising.

In simple terms, Meta (the parent company) has developed a tool (called Meta Ads) through which people can promote their businesses on Facebook, Instagram, etc. & the overall process is called Meta advertising.
